KFO April,
April was a typically busy month as we split our time running the shop, teaching class and getting out for adventures.
Classes
Teaching
We had our usual Stop the Bleed classes at the shop and enjoyed meeting a cool cross section of folks coming out to up their skill sets.
We also had the privilege of doing a CPR/AED and First Aid class with the
Volcan Mountain Foundation, what a great opportunity and neat place to get to teach such a fun group!
The weather added a lot of character to the mountain, and this was my first time heading up this side to the education center.
We took a whole day with a "working group" approach to how First Aid and CPR would be unique to their location, as well as lots of hands on practice.
The education center on Volcan Mountain is such a cool little secret and a cozy place to learn. Plus they have some pretty neat exhibits I had to check out.
Upcoming Classes
Learning
Steph and I had a busy month too when it came to learning as well, we both got certified to teach American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR, and will be adding more classes to the shop soon!
I also got to break off and do some firearms training with
Bearly Training, it was a full day of hard work and a lot of fun I definitely felt my skills built and can't wait to get back and train with them again.
Adventures
Getting The Fox Out There
Our Buddy Ralph took a trip of a life time and was able to explore Antartica, what an absolutely amazing experience and he was cool enough to "take us along" and Get The Fox Out There!
Local Adventures
As for us back in North America we had a fun and busy month, and we even got to play in the snow too! Our friend at
Triple B Adventures where down at Bolder Oaks Campground doing some trail magic for the PCT hikers starting their journey to Canada.
Triple B provided some great camp support and great group for the hikers.
One of my favorite parts was meeting some cool Hikers from New Zealand! Super rad and they stopped bye the shop to say hi on their way to the Lakeside Rodeo for an authentic American experience!
With the Ramona Trail Challenge going, I got out of the shop and on the trail to enjoy some local spots like South Clevenger and hiked up the the chairs and enjoyed the green Spring we are having here.
From South Clevenger to Pamo Valley we hav e definitely been enjoying the great weather!
San Jacinto
And in a total reverse and true to Spring I was able to still make it up the mountain for some late season snow shoeing, Other than a little knee sprain I had a blast on a solo overnight trip. Don't worry I camped in a tent, I was just practicing shelters haha.
April was a busy month and I see May shaping up to be one as well, So stop by the shop and say I you might run into one of us when we aren't Getting The Fox Out There!
