Kit Fox Outfitters, May

KFO, May!

Spring was definitely in the air, with some green remaining and warmer temps and longer days we had a great month staying busy at the shop and on the road!

Classes,

Wilderness First Aid

We wrapped up our final Wilderness First Aid class before we went into summer hibernation. Don't worry though we have two more scheduled for 2024 in October and November when the weather cools down you can read more about that here (16HR WFA). We had an awesome crew out for what I have to say has been some of our better weather for class this year.

Lots of fun hands on work at the wonderful Broken Oak Ranch, we are really lucky we have such an amazing place to train at. One of the best parts is the free camping for the weekend!

Stop The Bleed

And as always we enjoyed having a bunch of rad folks come to the shop for our monthly Stop The Bleed Training, one of the upsides of having air-conditioning is smiling faces as we train, or maybe they are having fun too, haha.

I also have to give best dressed to this master of wound packing... one of the fun parts of the Stop The Bleed is all of the hands on work.

First Aid & CPR

But just because we have the shop and Broken Oak Ranch to train at doesn't mean we won't travel! We had the opportunity to come down to one of our favorite places.. Borrego Springs and work with some great volunteers from the Borrego Art Institute!

We had a great afternoon working on our basic first and and CPR skills at the Borrego Valley Endowment Fund office.

Community,

Taste of Ramona

Every year the Ramona Chamber of Commerce host the wildly successful and fun Test of Ramona which gives participants an opportunity to partake in many local restaurants. While we are not a restaurant even year we love to pretend to be like one and serve up out backpacking food.

This year was especially fun because we brought in a new line of meals with Peak Refuel, for us its a great way to share just how far backpacking meals have come and just how good they are!

Santa Ysabel Gas Station!

The 79 Roadside which has had a great little convenient store for a while now, now has a full gas station with affordable gas!

Also if I might add, it's pretty rare to have a gas station with such amazing views! Definitely worth checking out when refueling in San Diego's Back Country.

Adventures,

NYNY

Steph had a great opportunity to go adventure in New York New York in the beginning of the month.

She had so much fun seeing it in the winter she had to come back in the spring! This time she made it out to the Statue of Liberty!

Local

Steph and I had some time to get down to Del Mar and play a couple holes of mini golf, I have to say Pelly's Mini Golf was a good time!

On The Trail

I kept pretty busy this month but my buddy Craig and I still got the chance to head out to Warner Springs and hike out to Eagle Rock.

While it's really getting to hot to hike now, we had a great May count along the PCT and got to run into some PCT hikers too! The rolling hills and easy trail made for a fun quick hike.

Get The Fox Out There!

We absolutely love it when all of you Get The Fox Out There and share your pictures with KFO gear on your adventures! Here are a few from May.
